Alethea's Mid-Year Exams

Inspired by ideas from some Charlotte Mason inspired families in the US, we conducted our mid-year-exam-with-a-difference earlier this month. The idea was to allow our children to showcase snippets of what they had learnt in the year - Bible verses memorised, poems recited, hymns sung, reading accomplished, etc. And it was a hit! Here are some videos. We hope it will inspire you to capture those wonderful memories you are making with your children along your homeschool journey!

Daffodils by William Wordsworth

Bible Verse Recitation

Poetry Recitation

Chinese Reading

Piano Recital

Alethea, I am so proud of you. Sammie says, "I liked her piano." Ally says, "I liked her piano too."

My favorites were the poetry reciting. When you recited Daffodils by Wordsworth, I loved all your expressions and voice inflections. It made me feel the poet's delight as he enjoyed the daffodils.

I almost skipped the Chinese book BUT the girls said "Awwww... we want to hear it." So we did. And we loved how you used different voices for the different characters. Our favorite was your cute little voice.

Way to go, Alethea! You are mastering so many new skills and forging your character along the way. We are so PROUD of you, Alethea!
